Awesome Kong released by TNA while holding half of the Knockouts Tag Titles

Kong-bubba_medium

A month after asking for it, Awesome Kong got her release tfrom TNA, and they didn't even bother to get the Knockouts Tag Titles off of her and Ayako Hamada first.  The linked Wrestling Observer story says it's not clear if this happened now because she asked again, though.  Her lawsuit against mortal enemy Bubba The Love Sponge probably sped things up.

On her Twitter account, Kong made a funny by thanking TNA for wishing her the best in her future endeavors.

Yeah, I was just about to post this. :-) I think I’d just add that Kong might not have been being sarcastic when thanking TNA on Twitter, she might have genuinely wanted to thank Dixie Carter for finally granting her the contract release that she wanted. Maybe this means there is something to Kong’s lawsuit and that forced TNA’s hand?

I figure she’s legitimately grateful but also snuck in “future endeavors” as a joke since it’s impossible to take it seriously coming from anyone in wrestling nowadays.

The timing makes me think that the lawsuit was a factor. As far as the merit, I’d like to hear more about what she’s claiming since so far it’s kinda weird.

Bad Move by TNA

probably the best (and most unique) female wrestler is released instead of a shockjock/backstage reporter. TNA should’ve fired Bubba immediately and done whatever they could to keep Kong IMO.

Where does Kong think she will go? WWE doesn’t hire women wrestlers unless they are good looking. The days of women who can wrestle are all but over. Only a few remain. I wonder what they are gonna do with the titles. Normally you have a match where she would lose the title and get Kayfabed. Now? What do you do?

Kong gets replaced or they lose the titles in Outer Mongolia.
