On CTE: "I think that this is pretty earth shattering and should be earth shattering news, but everyone is afraid to talk about it and maybe for a whole bunch of different reasons, I mean I hate to think of terrible reasons like the fact that so many of these networks promote these sports and have these sports on their shows that they don't want to bring more attention to this, but this is pretty earth shattering."

On Ivan Trembow's final MMA column: "I thought it was an excellent piece and you could tell the passion that he wrote it with and the sadness that he wrote it with and he has very good points. It's just like when I, I mean I hate to bring this up again, but it's just like when I was a ring physician and one of the, there were several reasons why I stopped being a ring physician, but one was because I felt that the boxers were not being adequately followed as far as pre fight medical tests, that a lot of the tests that we were being presented with when I was chairman of the medical advisory body were maybe not legitimate tests. You know they were tests that had been falsified. And I felt that I could no longer sit there and watch these fights thinking that the fighters were fighting healthy, coming into the fight healthy when I had no idea whether or not their MRI was legitimate or not. And it's the same issue. I think he brought up a lot of really good points and I'm really not even sure how to respond. I mean I think from all the things that he said he made a great deal of sense. I think that anybody that really cares about MMA should read that article and try to figure out in their own mind, you know, how they can work to improve the sport. And I think that if it's mostly media people or journalists that read that article, you know, sitting quiet and not saying anything is not the right thing to do. Sitting quiet so you get a good press credential is being just as bad as not doing anything.

Closing remarks: Well, unfortunately for all of us that love these sports, what may turn out is that the risks are so much greater than we could have anticipated as far as causing neurological disorders or cognitive degenerative disorders, that the risks are so huge even to individuals that dabble in these endeavours that there could be changes as far as allowing these sports being held. I know that sounds absurd and I would never say this (before) but the knowledge is mounting. It may take years for it to accomplish that, it may not be in my lifetime, but it's very scary stuff.
