Kimura Yoshikimi, AKA Gran Naniwa, who debuted in Michinoku Pro Wrestling and was currently working as a freelance wrestler, has passed away due to a heart attack. He was 34 years old.
Kimura enrolled as a trainee in Universal Pro Wrestling in 1992. After that, he transferred to Michinoku Pro Wrestling and after debuting using his real name in March of 1993, he began working under a mask using Osaka's "Kani Doraku" as a motif and using the name Gran Naniwa in June of the same year.
Besides Michinoku Pro Wrestling, he wrestled in places such as New Japan Pro Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling, and KAIENTAI-DOJO as a Junior Heavyweight. He became a wrestler beloved by fans by carving his name in battles that will go down in the history of Japanese pro wrestling.
At the request of his family, his death was not announced until after his wake and funeral were held and the Buddhist memorial service on the 49th day after his death had passed.
Furthermore, there are plans for a flower display at ringside and a 10 bell salute at the December 16th Michinoku Pro show at Korakuen Hall, the December 25th KAIENTAI-DOJO show at Korakuen Hall, and the November 21st Okinawa Pro show at Delfin Arena. We sincerely and respectfully pray for his happiness in the next world.
