Rey Mysterio suspended from WWE for Wellness violation

Current WWE Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio has been suspended for 30 days for violating the company's Wellness program according to wwe.com.  The suspension goes into effect this Wednesday, September 2nd, conveniently the day after Tuesday's Smackdown tapings, so look for Rey to drop the title on next week's episode.

This is Rey's first Wellness violation, though in 2007 Sports Illustrated alleged that Mysterio had received prescriptions for the steroids nandrolone and stanozolol from Arizona doctor David Wilbirt.

This suspension takes Mysterio out of September's Breaking Point pay-per-view, in which he was scheduled to defend his title against Dolph Ziggler, as well as October's Hell In A Cell PPV.
