According to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez (who have been updating their Umaga post with new information as it became available), Edward "Umaga" Fatu has been taken off life support.

or
He was beyond help so they took him off life support
Unfortunately I feel as though it is more likely the latter (as it more often is).
