Cageside Seats Monster Month #11

GIANT GONZALEZ

He was tall. He was ugly. He was slow. But most of all, he was AWFUL. Debuting in WCW as El Gigante in 1990, it soon became apparent that young Jose Gonzalez had zero wrestling ability, yet he hung around for three years before Vince McMahon signed him and for some unfathomable reason thought the world needed to see an Undertaker vs Giant Gonzalez feud. Vince was wrong. The feud, though featuring the use of CHLOROFORM and the wearing of a hairy bodysuit, failed, and Gonzalez was gone 9 months later. Here's both of his PPV matches with the Undertaker. I'd tell you to enjoy the matches, but that ain't happening.

The thing is the actual booking of that feud was great. But that body suit and Gugantes crumminess sunk. Over a decade later they redid it right with the Khalli feud and it was a hit.

Khali killed a dude in the ring and he was still more competent than Gigante.

He just had such an odd way of moving. Like he was a cartoon from the twenties. He could not the bare minimum every giant should be able to do. A overhead chop or forearm, body slam and a suplex of some kind. He was worse than Ron Studd and did that guy blow.

Ten more entries left, whats on tap. I know you got spots for Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow locked down. What about the One Man Gang? Samoan Swat Team?
