Shane McMahon Quits WWE
In a fairly shocking move, Shane McMahon, son of Vince McMahon, has posted his resignation letter on WWE.com
It is with great sadness that I announce my resignation from the
WWE , effective January 1, 2010.
I have never even considered a future outside the walls of theWWE . However, sometimes life takes an unexpected turn and while it is the most difficult decision I have ever made, it is time for me to move on.
Shane has been an on-air personality many times in the past and has had probably the greatest matches in the history of any non-wrestler bar none. He had an insane street fight against Kurt Angle and was the opponent in both Test's and Steve Blackman's greatest matches ever.
It's never been any secret that Shane did not have any desire to take over running the company when his father died or passed it on. His sister, Stephanie, has always has a much more hands-on relationship with creative and in the past ten years it's been clear that she and her husband Triple H are the clear heirs to the day-to-day operations of WWE when Vince hands over the reins. This is still quite unexpected.
Shane relinquishes his role as WWE Executive Vice President at the beginning of the year. Rest assured there will be loads of fallout from this. We will update this story as it develops.
Alternate, obvious title to this story would be "There Goes The Money"

This could be awesome news for MMA fans. Shane has pitched WWE running MMA for a while now, with Vince vetoing it every time. For Shane to leave like this, well, he has to be leaving for a reason, as he made a ton of money working for his dad.
He also HAS a lot of money. How much would it cost to buy Strikeforce, realistically?

i don't know, look what happened to WCW after shane bought them.
human beings, who are almost unique in their ability to learn from the experiences of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
